Folsom Painting was started in 1990 by John Lira. John became a painter in the San Francisco Bay Area after leaving the US Navy in 1968. He rose through the ranks of the Painters Union Apprenticeship Program while learning from the "Old School" painters of the time. He eventually became a Journeyman level painter and worked on and ran, as a Foreman, some of the largest and most complex construction projects around. After gaining an immense amount of experience and expertise in all facets of the field, he decided to leave the commercial and industrial painting world to work for himself. In 1990 John became a licensed California Painting Contractor and Folsom Painting was born.
Today our clients range from owners of large commercial buildings, small businesses and local government projects. But our main focus is on the typical family dwellings that we all live in. Residential repainting is our specialty and still the "bread and butter" of Folsom Painting.
I began painting with my father while still in high school. By the time we reached the height of the economic boom of the late 90's I was working full time as a painter. After more than 20 years as a professional painter, I was ready to continue with the family business. I am now the owner of Folsom Painting. Now more than anything, I want to share my passion for painting, and watch as my clients discover the transformative power of a top notch paint job.
